It turns out the new trains do run into the Embarcadero Station,but you
change for KLMorN. Making people transfer seems to be a fine example of
MUNI's limited concern for people's transportation need.
If this arrangement is going to settle as the standard operating proceedure
I think Rescue MUNI should consider ways of using it as a way of turning up
the heat on MUNI's practices. The politics are interesting because the
downtown interests are probably satisified in getting people from CalTrain
to Embaradero. None the less it seems to me that we might be able to
create a buzz about the lack of run through. It is so absurd that people
will relate to it as inefficient and the media might write about it even
though the downtown establishment won't consider it a problem.
I should say that if this is just a few weeks or a month of break-in
service that is fair enough and we should give MUNI slack but more than
that is clearly MUNI unconcern.
