And, I still maintain that, given the lack of any other ready souce of
increased income for MUNI, this is an extraoridinarily stupid decision.
At the very least, we should not make it without specifically
identifying other realistic sources of income for MUNI. E.g, I oppose a
downtown assessment district, but if the choices are between that, and
increased fares, and reduced service, et cetera, these choices should be
made explicit in any statement issued by Rescue MUNI.
