1) Muni has spent $700 million on Breda cars, MMT and ATCS to fix the Muni
Metro system. No improvement is likely, but the investment should prevent
further deterioration in service.
2) Muni will spend $400 million on Third St Light Rail. This provides no
transit improvement but does allow more riders to savor the Muni Metro
experience.
3) Muni has received all the funding it requested from the city. Muni
says this level of funding will allow Muni to provide all the service it
advertises.
4) If Muni received more funding, what would you spend it on and would it
improve service?
P.S. I ride BART occasionally and really enjoy the ride. It would be
difficult for me to take money away from someone who is doing such a good
job.
P.P.S. With all the Muni Metro woes last week, it's a good thing the Fast
Pass is still good on BART.
