Editor's Note: Some of GRIP's proposals (free Muni, downtown tax, higher budget) are the subject of serious debate and NOT Rescue Muni policy.

Bicyclists, MUNI Riders, Pedestrians:
Rally for a "Transit First" City
The Fun Happens: Tuesday, September 15th
Time: 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. (one short hour)
Place: Starting at UN Plaza
You are invited to a colorful, direct action rally to present a list of demands to the Mayor confronting his administration’s failure to implement safer streets for bicyclists, pedestrians, and the disabled.
A mini-mass will leave Justin Herman Plaza at 5:10 to meet up with participants at UN Plaza at 5:30. From there we will walk, some with bikes, on the sidewalk, west on Market Street, and then north to City Hall at 401 Van Ness Avenue. We will keep a moderate pace to accomodate the disabled, elderly, and schoolkids, who are all welcome to join in.
Folks are encouraged to bring banners and signs.
Among our demands are: Fix MUNI as promised, Citywide Designated Bikeways, Ban Cars on Market Street, Calm Traffic for Pedestrians, Fare is NO FARE: FREE MUNI, Extend CalTrain to the Transbay Terminal, Rail On the Bay Bridge, and Triple MUNI's Budget: Tax Downtown.
UNLIKE THE MAYOR, WE ARE LOOKING AT THE WHOLE PICTURE AND A VISION
OF SAN FRANCISCO THAT SERVES THE GREATEST NUMBER OF CITIZENS.
Hope to see you there!
