Muni changes the colors of the transfers once a year, so that ploy would not be possible.
During my career, I've seen so many ruses people use to avoid paying a proper fare. One of them is saving Fast Passes. Then they wait until a pass with at least one similar color comes up, and try to slip them by the operator. Well, I usually am able to catch it and tear it up. There goes his "perfect collection".
Then there was the time someone presented a "1-Day Passport" with 17 days scratched off. When asked, he said sheepishly, "Yes. One day scratched off for each day used!" Needless to say, his luck ran out that day!
