I'm going through some old Digests--you know, housecleaning time for the
ol' Mac, etc. Here's a beaut from Max Pong (from V.001 n.287), with my
comments:

> All Muni Metro riders know the Boeing cars break down a lot. Well, Emilio
>Cruz and Mayor Brown have proclaimed that Muni Metro will only be fixed
>when all the Boeings are retired. The ATCS, POP, MMT, MMX and BREDAs are
>not causing the problems riders have been experiencing. It's the Boeings.
>Never mind that Muni and Mayor Brown said last March that the ATCS is the
>key to solving the Metro problem.
Hey, Mayor Brown isn't the problem, although he is turning into being the
problem.
> We all know the remaining Boeings cannot be retired until more Breda cars
>arrive sometime in the year 2000 or later. This is very convenient because
>Willie is up for re-election in 1999. His campaign slogan will be Blame
>Boeing, not Brown. What will Muni do when they don't have the Boeings to
>kick around anymore.
What will we do if we don't have Willie to kick around any more?
> Muni must keep track of what the problems are if they are to solve them.
>They should keep a daily record of every delay and include information such
>as when, where, how long, cause, resolution, etc. They will discover a few
>Bredas have broken down too.
Fix those doors, please. And while you're at it, go back to the old signal
system and overlay a "Zero Speed Indication" to prevent rear-end collisions
in the subway. Please, please--with a cherry on top???! Muni Metro riders
will thank you forever!
