John Rudolph talks about the J:
It has been my experience in Noe Valley since 1994 that at 7:30pm on Mondays
during football season, up to five J cars appear at once together at 30th
Street.
(Monday Night Football games begin [or used to begin] at 6pm Pacific Time,
and
7:30 is about ten minutes into half time, as though Bert, Ernie, Larry, Moe,
and Curly are back there at Balboa Park watching or listening to the game,
and
decide at half-time to do a run, in order to return to the game a few
minutes
into the third quarter.)
I am deeply cynical, obviously, about the supervision of the J-line
operators.
Part of the general problem with Muni, as we have all acknowledged in one
way
or another, is persistent incompetence, or an absence of personnel, which
equates to incompetence.
I am interested in what our Rescue Muni Muni Operator friends have to say
about this idea that J-line operators are watching Monday Night Football for
three hours and bunching their runs deliberately in order to minimize their
time away from the television or radio.
Thanks,
John
