"The BART tracks have to cross the CalTrain tracks somewhere in order to
get to the airport. Put the intermodal station there. Much cheaper than
going all the way to Milbrae to no ones benefit."

There was much controversy on exactly where the BART SFO extension would
terminate. To cut costs, BART wanted to stop on the west side of Highway
101 at an intermodal station with the SFO people mover and Caltrain.
Political pressure, including a ballot measure in SF, dictated the BART
station be physically located at SFO. The SFO station was finally located
adjacent to the international terminal and the intermodal station was moved
to Milbrae. These changes increased costs by $200 million or more.

Seem to me that the intermodal station should be in San Francisco, not
Milbrae. Caltrain should be extended to the Transbay Terminal. Then walk
one block to the Embarcadero BART/Muni Station or four blocks to the Ferry
Terminal.
