At 9:09 AM Tues. Dec. 29th I just missed an inbound train at Castro station.
The next inbound train, a 1 car Boeing, did not arrive until 9:22. This is
of course a 13 minute wait for a 1 car train. It was crush loaded. I was
able to board the next 1 car Boeing at 9:25. This train was then delayed in
the tunnel because of 'heavy traffic ahead'. Insofar as 3 of Muni's 5 lines
(K L M) had sent only 1 car inbound in the previous 16 minutes, and Muni has
spent close to $100,000,000 on train control systems and turnaround pockets
past Embarcadero Station, this explanation was very aggravating. Our driver
is to be commended for keeping us apprised of the delay. We did not arrive
at Civic Center until 9:40AM; It had taken 31 Minutes to get from Castro to
Civic Center.
