was located (is located) just outbound of East Portal (no longer extant)
where the Twin Peaks tunnel ended. The station can still be seen when
riding tunnel trains, just outbound of Castro St. station...you emerge
from the modern tunnel into the shell of the old station with pillars,
stairs, and white tile (mostly obscured by graffitti)...if you are
coming from Forest Hills station, it is after the single track tunnel
section. Currently, the tracks for the connection to the F run through
the station and emerge on either side of market St through the
appropriately named Eureka Portal at Collingwood st. Rarely the portals
are used.
