Hi, gang!

Further to my post on the 44-O'Shaughnessy the other day, here's what
happened today (Friday, 29 Jan 99):

At about 3:50pm, I boarded a 43-Masonic at Balboa Park (Green Division) to
go home, and rode to 9th Avenue and Judah, arriving about 4:10pm. About 4
people were waiting. After 10 minutes of waiting, I go into the restaurant
across the street and get a meal. I finish the meal in 15 minutes and join
the folks who are still waiting. Finally, about 4:45pm, a crowded n/b 44
bus arrives. At Irving, we pass a southbound bus which I surmised was the
previous 44 to go through. At Fulton, I get off and go home. About 8
people are waiting for the next southbound 44. I didn't have the heart to
tell them, "You see that bus over there? That's your next bus."

(As an aside to Robert Parks, I had a glorious day piloting Old Number One
on a charter today--and get paid my run pay for it! Next year, Robert,
think Orange! I think you'll be able to sign at Green...)
