We will spread out from there to handle not only the Metro, since we will
probably have lots of data for that already, but also the surface lines
nearby. We particularly want to distribute survey forms along the Market
Street lines and the major lines that cross Market such as 15 and the 14 along
Mission.
Finally, if you cannot make it this Friday night but have one hour or more to
give to RM's survey between now and Feb. 28, you could help out a lot by going
out to a busy intersection and monitor some major lines. We have a form for
you to use (it is different than the one you use for your own personal rides).
If you have a printer, we can e-mail it to you. If you don't, please let us
know ASAP and we will get one in the mail to you. Lines that could especially
use some observational data include 14, 15, 22, 24, 28, 29, 38.
If you stand at a location where these or other lines cross, you can get a lot
of observations in an hour and keep pretty busy. You just note the time you
started watching, the time you ended watching, and the time and direction and
line of any Muni vehicles you see go by in service. If you are able to, you
can also note the level of crowding. The time really does go by fast when
you're doing this. If you need the form, send a note to myself AND Andrew
Sullivan (ANDREW@sulli.org) and one of us will get a form in the mail to you
ASAP.
