Some answers by Howard Strassner to questions in a recent RM Discussion:

1) The RM Initiative does guarantee a better Muni but, we can hope that
RM plus loyal drivers and riders working with hopefully better
Commissioners and in the future a Riders Advisory Committee will stop
Muni from carrying out their dumbest thoughts like cutting back on 'F'
service. This will be better then a mostly political play by the Mayor.

2) The RM Initiative should lead to less political involvement in Muni
and that should cut off a Muni Hotel project in the very preliminary
phase without the need for much work by all of the above.

3) The Pedestrian Safety Task Force is concentrating on fixing 13 really
dangerous intersections and some related education stuff. To thisextent
the article was accurate. I will go to the library to read the article
myself. We are too small of a group to really slow down auto traffic.
There another group SF Walks who will take on the tougher
work.
