Gary Lucks, JD:  New California Environmental Legislations

The 2002 election year yielded a number of groundbreaking environmental
laws that became effective on January 1, 2003.  Key developments included
regulations on hazardous waste/materials, underground storage tanks,
alternative energy and energy efficiency, land use and environmental
forecasting, greenhouse gases, other multimedia environmental programs (air
quality, water quality, land use planning, enforcement, and environmental
justice). Find out how these new legislations will affect you and your
world.

Gary Lucks is an environmental attorney and scientist with over 17 years of
environmental regulatory compliance and sustainability experience.  He has
conducted numerous compliance audits, eco audits, training courses, and has
led a number of environmental permitting and regulatory analysis projects.
He is founder and principal of the firm Beyond Compliance, a consulting
organization designed to help industry transition from a regulatory
compliance model to one of sustainability.  Through implementation of
pollution prevention and multimedia environmental management systems
(EMSs), he helps his clients improve performance and reduce the costs of
doing business while exceeding command and control environmental compliance
standards.
