The San Francisco Natural History Series
in cooperation with
The Randall Museum
offers
Anatomy of Flight
with Allan Ridley
Ever marvel at birds in flight, as you wonder why they can fly and we
cannot? In this month's program we will contrast our human structure with
the anatomy of birds, examining bones, feathers, wings, lungs and overall
conformation. Then, with the basics of structure in mind we will view video
of birds in flight, illustrating the dynamics of flight in several diverse
species. There will be lots of hands-on observation by participants.
Allan Ridley, renowned environmental educator and Golden Gate Audubon
Society Board member, will broaden our understanding of birds and our
perception of flight.
Come fly with Allan Ridley!
