SAVE THE DATE!

There will be no SF Natural History Series program in July, but please mark
your calendars for a very special program in August:

Thursday, August 28, 2003; 7:30 pm

The legendary Dr. Ed Ross will talk about the biotic wonders that must have
existed in San Francisco before they were spoiled or lost by the invasion of
humans. He will talk about his good fortune of having youthful appreciation
of remnants still present in the 1920s. Slides will show some of the
interesting insects that were present at the time - some are still here.
The talk will be ad lib.

Dr. Ross' boyhood home and biotic environment was on the slopes of Mt.
Davidson and
elsewhere on the Peninsula. He graduated from Commodore Sloat Elementary
School in 1929.
