The California Bicycle Coalition and the City of Oakland, in association
with California Walks, are proud to announce the Walk / Bike California 2003
Conference in Oakland on October 15-17, 2003. The conference will highlight
the benefits of walking and cycling and how these non-motorized modes can
relieve congestion, stimulate economic activity, increase transit use, and
create safer and healthier communities throughout California and the western
United States. Featured speakers and presenters will include
nationally-recognized experts as well as state legislators, local, regional
and state agency representatives, planners and engineers, public health
promoters, pedestrian and bicyclist advocates.

cycling in the Bay Area. The Stride & Ride Awards Award Categories are for
INDIVIDUALS who have improved mobility in the Bay Area for:
* Bicyclists
* Pedestrians
* Senior/Disabled Persons
(Note: typical contributions - regardless of category - include advocacy,
safety projects, access improvements, education, innovative design, or
development of new facilities)
