spring <bold>Paul Gobster</bold> is the Beatrix C. Farrand Visiting
Distinguished Professor of Landscape Architecture and Environmental
Planning at UC-Berkeley, where he is teaching a seminar on the human
dimensions of urban open space planning and design. He is conducting
research on the issues and values underlying conflicts over restoration
in San Francisco.
