latest on our action campaigns for healthy communities and environmental

We are pleased to let you know that a big crowd of residents from Bayview 
Hunters Point packed the Bay Area Air Quality Management District's public 
hearing on May 4th to oppose PG&E's application for a new five year permit 
that would allow them to keep polluting the community.  Residents, 
Greenaction and allies sent a loud and clear message that this unnecessary, 
outdated and polluting power plant must close now.  Moms with babies spoke 
about the epidemic of asthma in the neighborhoods nearest the plant, and 
demanded that the government start protecting the people, not 
PG&E.  Residents, Greenaction and our coalition allies will announce an 
escalation in the campaign to shut the plant and to support clean, 
renewable energy very soon..stay tuned for details!
