Mobilization linking together people working on environment, biotech,
globalization, corporatization, social & racial justice, peace,
free trade, etc:

Reclaim the Commons June 3-9 2004 http://www.reclaimthecommons.net

a few tidbits:

Sustainable Showcase in Bay View Hunters Point,
installing solar panels, edible roof gardens, etc

teach-ins, including Vandana Shiva, one of the most articulate
spokeswomen from the global south

The same corporate power-brokers who are defining international military and
trade policies that exploit poor countries of color, are also responsible
for domestic policies that institutionalize poverty and racism - policies
that favor Big Business and special interests over the common good.

Movable Eco-Village for the Homeless

Massive plant give-away

Used clothing give-away in front of the Gap, showing a really free market
that benefits the entire community versus the so-called free market/free
trade that creates corporate monsters like the Gap that benefit only a few
fat cats, while hurting tens of thousands and destroying the environment!

The mass march on June 6 will end in the "Really, Really Free Market"
visionary notion of a gift economy: multi-cultural event for all ages
that includes a give-away of food, goods, skills, talent, alternative
health care, and information.

"Statement of Unity", a concise framing of these issues in terms of
the theft and commodification of the public commons (water, food, genes,
health, etc) for the private profit of the few at the expense of the many.
