Half of the historical bumble bee community is missing from San
Francisco today. Quinn McFrederick, graduate student in
Conservation Biology at San Francisco State University and Randall
Museum staff member, is investigating San Francisco's parks to identify
which characteristics influence the remaining bumble bee communities.
His research will provide information that can help to insure the
survival of the remaining species.
