The RANDALL MUSEUM PRESENTS
The San Francisco Natural History Series

New Guardians For The Golden Gate: How America Got a Great National Park

WITH GUEST SPEAKER Amy Meyer

Join Amy Meyer, author of the new book New Guardians of the Golden
Gate – How America Got a Great National Park, for a special evening
presentation. Meyer will tell the inspirational story of how she and
a core of staunch believers worked together to preserve the Marin
Headlands, Muir Woods National Monument, the Presidio of San
Francisco and Fort Mason, and how community activism helped to create
the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.

According to John King of the San Francisco Chronicle, “Meyer is the
perfect person to tell the story: She’s one of the original players
who made up something we now take for granted – tactical community
activism… New Guardians… is a primer showing how intelligent
people with a worthy goal can alter the landscape. Or, in this case,
keep it the way it was always meant to be.”

Meyer will have books to sell and autograph!
