SAN FRANCISCO NATURAL HISTORY SERIES

“Gardening for Native Bees” with guest speaker Gordon Frankie

Learn about the importance of California’s native bee population and
how to select flowering plants that will attract native bees to your
garden. UC Berkeley entomologist Gordon Frankie has led a ten-year
research project studying the behavior of native bees. Frankie will
provide a list of bee-friendly plants and offer a guide for building
an urban garden in which native bees will flourish. As European
honeybees disappear worldwide, the healthy survival of native bees
becomes ever more important. You can help!
