The San Francisco Natural History Series presents

Tracking Albatrosses and Tracking Trash

with Marine Ecologist Carol Keiper of Oikonos Ecosystem Knowledge

The Black-footed albatross, a graceful seabird that nests on the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands but travels across the Pacific Ocean for food, is often sited offshore, off central California in the Gulf of the Farallones and around Cordell Bank.

Marine ecologist Carol Keiper, from the non-profit research organization Oikonos Ecosystem Knowledge, will focus on the interesting natural history of these far-ranging seabirds, current research, and information on how the public can help with conservation efforts. The lecture will also link marine conservation, seabird research, and ecology with marine pollution issues.
