You can call someone stupid in anger, frustration, or something of the like, but do we ever really stop to think about what makes a stupid person stupid? In my short lifespan, I've come to realise a person is stupid for a few reasons. The highest on the list, is belief in things that can't be justified. I'm not implying that people who go to church are stupid, I'm saying that people who argue simply for the sake of argument, who often choose to defend beliefs that aren't justifiable, are stupid. People who believe things without thinking them through, are stupid. People who think things through, and still believe things after they know they aren't justifiable, are stubborn, and stupid. The second would be open aggressiveness towards people the stupid have never met simply to make themselves look good. This is usually the calling card of belonging to a clique. It means that they are so pathetic, that they must attack other people in order to take attention away from their own faults. If the person wasn't stupid, they might attempt to either fix their problems, or accept them and realise that people have faults, and thats what makes them themselves. The third being asking questions that are blatantly obvious. I don't mean blatantly obvious to those that are being asked, I mean blatantly obvious to those who are asking, but will not take three seconds to reason out the answer for themselves. So why are stupid people willingly stupid? I still don't know. Feel free to mail me if you figure it out. -Sil$Id: rant1.html,v 1.5 2000/12/20 05:56:34 djk Exp $ |
