Camp /Camp/ verb.

1a: To pitch or prepare a camp; to encamp; to lodge in a camp. 1b: Staying in one spot for the duration of the entire match of some multiplayer first person shooter.

Alot of people in the counterstrike "community" seem to be confused about what "camping" consists of. Camping is where a player essentially "sets up shop" in one spot and stays there, for the entire round, regardless of it's strategic relevance to the objective.

Now, in counterstrike, there are objectives to each particular map. For instance, a hostage situation. Now, in a hostage situation the terrorists usually end up very close to the hostages. Their objective is to keep the counterterrorists from saving said hostages. The onus to move in and do something would be upon the counterterrorists.

In a demolitions scenario, the counterterrorists must keep the terrorists from destroying a target with a bomb. The onus is now upon the terrorists to move in and destroy the target(s).

The point I'm getting at, is that one side is usually going to end up staying in one spot and waiting for someone to approach, since they're trying to fulfill certain objectives. This isn't camping. This is playing smart and attempting to fulfill your objectives.

Case in point, I had a run in with a server admin while guarding the bomb that a terrorist had dropped. I got a couple meters away from it and took cover. Ten seconds later the admin (who was on the terrorist team, and had been killed), slapped me... into the path of a terrorist's awp. Let me sum up our conversation:

*DEAD*{ssc+}admin: move
*DEAD*sil: bitch
*DEAD*sil: I was guarding the mother fucking bomb you stupid bitch
*DEAD*{ssc}admin: no camping

Anyways, please, before you take out your aggravations over life and the size of your penis on me, take a moment to think: "gee, I wonder if he's been there the entire round and doesn't plan on moving at all or fulfilling an objective."
